“By Virtue of Waiting”
In 2015 I had a freak accident that ultimately caused me to not be able to walk for some time. Luckily I learned how to walk again, and I am continuing to heal to this day. The interesting part about it is that I feel like it happened to my body but it didn’t happen to me. It’s like I’m carrying my body, waiting for it to heal while I continue to expand and grow from the inside. This piece is a visual metaphor for how I’ve been feeling the past few years as I carry my body around. There’s a separation between my mind/soul and my body that I feel from the inside. To me my body is a vessel through which I express myself through, and I carry it around waiting for it to fully heal.
This piece will be showing at Subliminal Projects for the Power to the Parks exhibition
